Azienda Agricola Vallorsi: A Family Story from the Heart of the Pisan Hills
Founded in 1966 in Terricciola, Vallorsi is a third-generation family winery producing terroir-driven Sangiovese, Vermentino and Chianti from the heart of the Terre di Pisa DOC.

In the heart of the Tuscan countryside, along the wine road of the Pisan hills, the Vallorsi family has been making wine since 1966. What began as the dream of Mario Bibbiani — supported by his sons Sergio and Stefano — has grown over three generations into one of the most authentic estates of the Terricciola area, today firmly anchored in the Terre di Pisa DOC.
1. A family story since 1966
Located in Località Morrona, in the municipality of Terricciola (Pisa), Azienda Agricola Vallorsi was founded in 1966 by Mario Bibbiani. From the beginning, the project combined viticulture, hospitality and a strong sense of place. Today the estate is run by Mario's children and grandchildren, who have kept intact the founding idea: making honest, drinkable, true-to-territory wines while opening the doors of the farm to visitors through a small agriturismo and a programme of tastings and aperitivi.
2. Terricciola and the Terre di Pisa DOC
Terricciola sits at the centre of the Pisan hills, on Pliocene soils of marine origin — sand, clay, fossil shells and limestone — moderated by the influence of the Tyrrhenian sea. It is one of the historic heartlands of Pisan viticulture, home to leading names of the Consorzio Vini Terre di Pisa. Vallorsi works within this terroir to produce wines that combine Tuscan structure with the saline freshness typical of the area.
3. The range of wines
The portfolio is built around classic Tuscan grapes — Sangiovese first of all — with a complementary line of whites and rosés that reflect the proximity to the coast.
- I Giocatori di Carte — Chianti Superiore DOCG, Sangiovese-led, the everyday flagship
- Chianti DOCG — Sangiovese 90%, Canaiolo and Malvasia, traditional vinification
- San Bartolomeo — premium Sangiovese-based red, the estate's top expression
- Argante — structured red from selected vineyards
- Malverzana — Terre di Pisa Vermentino DOC, fresh and saline
- I Cerroni — Costa Toscana Bianco IGT, the everyday white of the estate
- Nestore — Tuscan Sauvignon Blanc IGT, intense and fruity
- Il Prunetto — Terre di Pisa Rosé DOC, 100% Sangiovese
4. Vineyard and cellar approach
Vallorsi's philosophy is one of restrained, traditional winemaking. Harvest is carried out in October, vinification follows a classical method with bottling the autumn after the harvest for the freshest reds, and longer ageing for the top selections. The wines are designed to pair naturally with Tuscan cuisine: medium body, fine tannins, bright red fruit and a clean, food-friendly finish — the recognisable signature of the Pisan hills.
5. Hospitality and direct sales
Beyond bottles, Vallorsi is also an agriturismo and a destination for wine lovers. The estate offers cellar visits, guided tastings and seasonal aperitivi among the vineyards, with direct sales on site and a small online shop. It is the kind of mid-sized family winery that on-trade buyers and importers value most: serious wines, transparent pricing, and a real story behind every label.
Vallorsi is not chasing fashion — it is quietly defending an idea of Pisan wine made of family, terroir and time.
6. Export potential
For importers looking for an authentic Tuscan estate beyond the most marketed appellations, Vallorsi is a compelling proposition: a credible territorial story within the Terre di Pisa DOC, a complete range from everyday whites to structured Sangiovese, sustainable production volumes and accessible price points. It is exactly the kind of project that resonates with sommeliers and specialised retailers in markets — Switzerland, Germany, the Nordics, North America, East Asia — that increasingly reward authenticity over labels.
